I am a sucker.
A pushover. An easy target. My empathy strings can be tugged so readily.
Almost compulsively.
So when authors organize charity anthologies - those big collections of books and stories that are designed to raise money for causes - I almost always say yes.
And then I write.
The first charity anthology I ever participated in what A Sweet Life, which raised more than $100,000 for Juvenile Diabetes and launched my Shopping for a Billionaire world.
And now - I’m helping to raise funds for the Maui fires, returning back to Declan and Shannon, my first “charity anthology” couple.
Fitting, huh?
You can read “Shopping for a Billionaire’s Coffee,” a new 9,700 word short story (about 40 pages), EXCLUSIVELY available in Aloha, a charity anthology to raise funds for the Maui wildfires.
A group of over 40 authors (including me) are donating original, new stories to help fundraise.
My assistant Maria and my husband Clark are the ONLY PEOPLE who have read this so far. You can read it on September 12!
I don’t make a penny when I donate stories to these boxed sets and anthologies, but I get “paid” from the satisfaction of knowing I’m helping people.
When you buy this book, you get both a return to Declan and Shannon and that same satisfaction, too. <3
This anthology releases September 12, so preorder now!
Description for Shopping for a Billionaire’s Coffee:
Declan and I are popping our cherry together.
Coffee cherry.
We’re about to go to Hawaii, signing the papers to buy our first Kona coffee farm.
Pinch me. Is this really my life? Marrying a billionaire, having his baby, buying a regional coffee chain we’ve turned global, getting pregnant with our second child, and now – now this? It’s been one heck of a decade.
The best decade.
But there’s one little catch: Declan has no idea we’re buying the coffee farm. Keeping this secret takes the espionage skills of an MI6 operative. I suck at keeping secrets, but this one will be worth it.
Because turnabout is fair play.
For our ninth date-iversary, he bought me a house. Except instead of a normal house, my overachieving billionaire husband bought us a conference center, with multiple homes, to turn into a world-class resort.
How do I top that?
By convincing another billionaire to sell his exceptional Hawaiian property to me.
The property Declan’s been chasing for years.
I’m six months pregnant. Mom and Dad are ready to watch our four-year-old when I close the deal of the century.
Hawaii is paradise, right?
So is one-upping my husband.
This sounds like it's going to be hilarious. Are you positive you can't make this full length? I can just imagine the storyline now. Lol
Placed my pre-order! Looking forward to seeing Declan and Shannon ag! What worthy cause!!
